What actually happens

  • You fill in an online form with your postcode and some basic questions.
  • Someone phones you for a 30–45 minute assessment, usually within a couple of weeks.
  • They suggest a type of therapy — guided self-help, CBT, counselling.
  • Waiting times differ a lot by area: some start within weeks, others take months. Ask at the assessment.
